VALDOSTA — 瓦尔多斯塔 State University’s latest endowment promises to support student-athletes by providing them the financial support needed to pursue their academic, 运动, and professional goals.

艾伦和琼·迪尔, longtime friends of bet365亚洲官网 and bet365亚洲官网 体育运动, established the Herb and 琳达·莱因哈德 Scholarship endowment with an initial gift of $25,000. With a focus on expanding the scholarship’s impact on campus, the couple has vowed to match future gifts to the endowment up to $400,000.

“Linda and I are extremely honored by the creation of this endowment,” said Herb Reinhard, director of bet365亚洲官网 体育运动. He retired on June 30 after 32 years of service. “Allan and Joan have been tremendous supporters of bet365亚洲官网 体育运动 for many years and their generosity and support have touched the lives of countless bet365亚洲官网 student-athletes. Their wonderful gift will provide tremendous opportunity for future bet365亚洲官网 student-athletes to realize their 潜在的.”

The Herb and 琳达·莱因哈德 Scholarship will provide financial support to student-athletes from bet365亚洲官网’s 12 NCAA Division II sports — baseball, 垒球, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s tennis, 足球, men’s and women’s cross country, 足球, 高尔夫球, 和排球. 

“This benefit provides bet365亚洲官网 student-athletes the opportunity to focus on academics while developing leadership skills that will prepare them for future employment and teaching opportunities,艾伦·迪尔说.

Herb Reinhard joined Blazer Nation as 运动 director in 1992 and is credited with prominently placing bet365亚洲官网 on the national map of collegiate 运动s, including a dominance across NCAA Division II programs. Under his leadership, bet365亚洲官网's 运动 programs have won 51 of the university’s 55 Gulf South Conference championships and eight of its nine national championships and expanded to include volleyball and women's 足球.

他的妻子, 琳达·莱因哈德, has worked for the university for 10 years and currently serves as an accounting associate with bet365亚洲官网 Foundation Inc.
